Página 1 was born from the wish to create more than a coffee shop: a place for meeting, sharing and stories.
The challenge was to build an identity able to convey that human dimension, without falling into the predictable visual codes associated with the world of cafés — from overly sophisticated minimalism to already saturated artisanal references.
The brand brings together different cultural and emotional influences. Coffee with roots in São Tomé, the connection to Cape Verde and the relationship with Portugal are part of the family's story, and become an opportunity to build an identity with genuine origin and meaning.
It was essential to find a language that balanced these references with a contemporary, relaxed and approachable personality.
The concept of “Página 1” — Page 1 — became the starting point: everyone who walks into the space brings a story with them, and every encounter can be the beginning of a new chapter.
We started from the idea that a good brand does not only need to tell its own story — it needs to make room for other people to be part of it too.
We built the identity around the concept of a first page, exploring the world of books, of encounters and of the small rituals that happen around a table.
We developed:
The focus was to create an identity that is human before it is decorative — a brand that does not only talk about coffee and food, but about what happens between people while they share them.
The result is a warm, distinctive identity full of personality, built to make Página 1 a recognizable place before you even walk through the door.
The illustrations give the brand a face. The typography introduces spontaneity. The palette creates a welcoming atmosphere. And the cultural references add depth and authenticity to the visual system.
More than representing a coffee shop, the identity sets out to represent the encounters that happen inside it.
A brand that brings together roots, flavours and stories in a contemporary and close language.
Because, in the end, every good story begins on the first page.
